American Airlines Admirals Club at New York LaGuardia Airport

An average lounge that didn’t quite live up to offering premium services.

The Admirals Club at New York LaGuardia airport has always had pretty good reviews and had us curious as to how it would compare to the other Admirals Club. It was accessible only to passengers with memberships and allowed for two guests or immediate family of the membership holder to visit it as long as they were accompanied by the member. Also passengers with AAirpass® Members with Admirals Club Privileges were allowed in. Location and Timing: It was located at Concourse D near Gates 1 and 2 right after security. The Admirals Club is open from 5 am to 9:30 pm from Sunday to Friday and from 5 am to 8:30 pm on Saturdays.

First Impression: This first-class lounge at LaGuardia airport offered a fabulous view of the runway and of New York City in the far distance. Having gained access to it as I held a first-class round the world ticket, I took my time to try out all the various offers of the Admirals Club.

Décor and Ambience: The Admirals Club is done in shades of grays and blues. With comfortable seats scattered around the room, it is comfy and offered a good breather from the chaotic airport crowd. The space is quite large and was broken into small areas. The main lounge is done in dark olive green with green chairs, dark burgundy chairs and round tables to rest your drinks on.

Amenities and Offer: The Admirals Club offered seven small dining room tables, a special area where cell phones were not permitted so as to offer the passengers a quiet and peaceful break to relax in and half a dozen work stations. There were conference rooms and workstation without computers offered to work in or have a private phone call in. A few TVs were also made available. WiFi was offered from T-Mobile for those who wanted to access it from their phones and laptops.

Food Available: The Admirals Club had a bar and a small café that offered food for purchase. Quick snacks and short-eats were easy to grab from here and eat before your flight time.

Overall Impression: The Admirals Club was comfortable without being great. The amenities offered didn’t quite live up to other first-class clubs at airports which docked points from its favor.

Rating: Between Bombastic and Not.
