A Quiet Refuge

Etihad First and Business Class Lounge - London Heathrow: I was traveling first class on Kuwait Airways and this was the lounge associated with my airline. The Etihad lounge is open to first and business class customers and Etihad Guest Gold and Silver card holders as well as travelers from other select carriers such as Kuwait Airways.

Situated downstairs in-front of gate 10 of London Heathrow, the Etihad Lounge serves both first and business class passengers. It’s a welcome place to relax before a long flight.

The Etihad Lounge’s ambience and design is consistent with its counterpart in Abu Dhabi. With a dark brown carpet covering the floor’s expanse, with off-white and brown leather seating all around paired with low rounded coffee tables. There’s also a flat screen TV near the window side, and a small area with a magazine shelf in the other side.

The lounge itself is divided into three spaces with the restaurant occupying the middle space. The restaurant has a buffet table offering continental fare, or you can opt to order ala carte. The lounge also has a bar which serves alcohol, though the choices are limited to two types of red wine, and two types of white wine. Additionally, there are free spa mini-treatments courtesy of Six Senses.

Overall, my overall experience was nice especially since the lounge was pretty much empty except for a few guests scattered about. I do wonder how busy the lounge would be prior to an Etihad flight, but for me it was quite nice having the peace and quiet of an empty first class lounge.

My rating for the Etihad lounge in London is Almost Bombastic.

Rating: Almost Bombastic
