Nice addition to Male International Airport
The Plaza Premium Lounge at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport in Maldives is located on the second floor near Gate 1 of the departure terminal. This lounge is part of the Plaza Premium Lounge, an ISO 9001:2008 certified airport lounge network. Recently opened, the Male airport lounge was designed by Hong Kong-based Premium Port Lounge Management Company Private Ltd. This lounge is open to both first and business class passengers. Economy class passengers can also use this lounge for a fee. A classy place, this lounge can be used by a passenger for a maximum of 3 hours.
The Male airport lounge is divided into two sections, business class and first class. The business class lounge was equipped with comfortable sofas, computer stations, flat screen televisions and a flight monitor. Free Wi-Fi was available throughout the lounge. Paid telephone and fax facilities were also available. Restrooms were clean and well maintained.
We were escorted from the front desk to the exclusive first class section of the lounge. This section was much smaller than the business class area. The chairs in this section were big and comfortable. A small station served soft drinks and water. There were no alcoholic drinks though. Shortly after we had settled in, a young man came with an a la carte’ menu and took our orders. The menu consisted of simple dishes. I ordered the spaghetti while my partner opted for the salad. Our orders were served quickly. The spaghetti was very good and the salad, fresh and tasty. When it was time for our flight, the staff came and informed us.
Overall, the Male airport lounge is a nice and comfortable place to relax in before a flight. The staff is friendly and attentive. For such a small airport, it really is a nice airport lounge. Bombastic.
