Though the hotel exudes class, the rooms could be better. Don’t get me wrong, rooms were very well maintained though they were a bit on the dull side and were sorely in need of an update. Compared to other luxury hotels in major Asian capitals, the Mandarin Oriental Manila’s rooms were a cut below.

Service, on the other hand, was great. The staff had a keen eye for detail and was very efficient. They were available at all times and attended to our every need. They also made sure you felt welcome at all times, and never skimped on giving out smiles.

The hotel’s service alone was worth the stay, and if ratings were based on that alone, the Mandarin Oriental Manila would get the highest honor. However, the less than stellar state of the rooms dropped its score a bit, prompting us to rate it an Almost Bombastic
