The Dasman Lounge at Kuwait International Airport was my lounge for my recent flight out of Kuwait. The lounge hadn’t favored too well in some of the reviews I had read and I was here to experience it for myself and figure out the truth behind the reviews. The Dasman Lounge is open to qualifying passengers on the following airlines: Kuwait Airways, Syriana, Tunis, United, Air India, Bulgarian, Air China, Saudi Arabia Airlines, Indian Airlines, Yemini Airlines, Iran Air, Thai Air (this is subject to change).

Location: The Dasman Lounge is located opposite Gates 22 and 23 when you take a right after the immigration.

Décor and Ambience: The Dasman Lounge was adequately spacious as expected. The walls had a wooden finish in pale wood color and the lounge had large white leather couches and was divided into small seating sections, allowing for a bit of privacy when it’s not too busy.

Amenities and Offer: The Dasman Lounge offered free internet for those looking to access the web. There was a bathroom with two shower stall, but it was quite cramped. A playroom for kids with a few toys was offered to the passengers traveling with children, designed sound-proof so as to not disturb the other passengers. The lounge also offered free massage seats, a prayer room, a smoking room and is designed to be wheel-chair accessible.

Food Available: The Dasman Lounge offered a small buffet with appetizers and Indian dishes. Small sandwiches, salads and pastries were offered here. There is a Costa Coffee branch and a soda/juice bar where you could order your drinks at.

Overall Impression: The Dasman Lounge didn’t live up to the expectations of a first-class/business lounge. The upkeep and service wasn’t as expected and the ambience didn’t lend an air of premium comfort and relaxation.

Rating: Between Bombastic and Not.
