Jazz Bar at Kempinski Hotel – Cairo, Egypt: The sophisticated Jazz Bar at Kempinski Nile Hotel is the place to see and be seen in Cairo. Located on the 10th floor of the hotel, the bar offers magnificent views from its big windows that overlook the Nile.

The Jazz Bar is done up in warm hues of brown, burgundy and beige. The baby grand piano in the corner, the dark walls and the dark red leather stools gives the feeling of a classy and comfortable living room. The dimly lit lounge holds live jazz music on weekdays. An assortment of liquor bottles adorns the wall behind the bar.

My partner and I visited the Jazz bar on a Friday night. It was empty except for one group consisting of three people. The bar offers a range of cocktails and also serves complimentary olives and nuts. Some of the cocktails are berry berry, a mixture of champagne, apple juice and apple pieces; the pina colada and the Jazz Bar’s own version of a Long Island ice tea, called the Zamalek Tea.

The bartenders were very attentive and efficient. We were informed that a live DJ performs on occasional weekends. All in all, the wine prices are more reasonable than the bar at the Four Seasons. Even the atmosphere is much nicer.

The Jazz Bar is ideal for a quiet drink on weekends and even for a business drink or a casual meeting. And I have a feeling the limited crowd is just because the Jazz Bar is still fairly new. I think once word gets out to about this place, it’ll be hard to find a seat in this classy place. Regardless, from everything we saw, we rate the Jazz Bar at Kempinski Hotel in Cairo Bombastic!
