L' Avenue - Pairs, France | Restaurant Review

Good Food but Rude Service

Restaurant Category : Brasseries, French

L' Avenue - Paris, France - Not far from the Eiffel Tower on Avenue Montaigne. This is a great place for lunch after a hard day of shopping the designers or walking the streets of Paris.

Order a pasta dish and a nice bottle of wine and you'll be ready to hit the streets again in no time. Is it Bombastic, no, but good enough we had lunch there two times.

Update - September 2006 - What a huge, huge, huge disappointment on our last visit. This used to be one of our favorites but they have gotten an attitude that isn't worth the hassle. They are extremely selective of who gets in.

The first time we went for an early dinner we saw dozens of people turned away and after some investigation, we were told they just let in regular customers or if a hotel made reservations for their guests.

We were there over two hours and it never even got half full. We asked the hostess and then the manager and both basically said, "It's the policy, deal with it". This is our last visit to L' Avenue. The service alone has taken it from Bombastic to Not Bombastic.
