Mori Venice Bar - Paris, France: The Mori Venice Bar in Paris is located on the Quatre Septembre Street in the 2nd district near the Paris Stock Exchange. The owner Massimo Mori set up this Italian restaurant in October 2005.

A classy restaurant cum wine bar, Mori Venice Bar had a baroque-style decor by Phillippe Starck. Crystal chandeliers and mirrors, nice stemware and brown leather upholstery completed the Venetian look. Jazz music was playing overhead. The tables were covered with lovely white linen tablecloths and set with trendy silverware.

The menu at this Italian restaurant in Paris was typical Venetian style Italian fare. The wine menu was extensive and was truly a wine connoisseur’s paradise. We started our dinner with a portion of pumpkin soup with croutons which was quite good. The European Spider Crab was nice as well. The pasta we had was however passable only after the addition of salt and pepper. Moreover, the table and chairs were too low for comfort and the silverware, though trendy was very hard to use. Food was fair at best. An Ice cream trolley with Vanilla, Red berry, Pistachio, Walnut, Chocolate and Coffee flavours was the saving grace. There were a number of breads to choose from but no plate for serving them on to.

Service was below par at this Italian restaurant in Paris. The staff never checked to see how we were faring. And little things like folding our napkin when we stepped away from the table never happened.

Overall, Mori Venice Bar had a nice atmosphere, but the service just did not measure up. The food was only fair. In fact, for the prices charged, I expected a whole lot more. Overall the experience was barely “Almost Bombastic”.
