The Biggest Personal Pizza Ever!

Paparazzi Opera – Paris, France: While walking in a quiet street in Paris, we came upon a beautifully restored building and became intrigued by the small quaint restaurant housed in it, Paparazzi Opera. This hidden away, tourist-free gem serves delicious Italian cuisine and some of the largest personal pizzas I have ever seen, in a classic Parisian, casual chic atmosphere.

We went in and were greeted by a staff that spoke very little English. While they were kind and attentive, we had to struggle with the language barrier. With a little effort, we were able to order soup, pizza, and pasta.

The soup, a carrot soup, was the perfect dish for a cool winter’s day. It was full of flavor with a hint of spices that warmed me up and refreshed me, giving me a good kick to start off an indulgent (and humungous) dish—the giant pizza that I was about to come face to face with.

When it arrived on our table, I was flabbergasted by the size of it. It actually took up two full plates and just looking at it made me feel full. Fortunately, it had a wonderfully thin crust and perfect amounts of cheese, sauce and salami. I did not hesitate to bite into all of that goodness. For a moment, I thought I was in Napoli where I’ve had some of the best pizzas in all my travels.

My friend had the pasta, a Rigatoni with wild boar ragu, which was not be as good as the pizza but was a sure winner as well. Because of the language barrier I wasn’t able to ask them if their pasta was homemade but it tasted as though it were.

For a casual but beautiful (and a bit pricey at 51 Euro) lunch, I highly recommend Paparazzi Opera. Bombastic!

What I liked: Food, ambiance

What I didn’t like: A bit pricey
