Byblos Italian Restaurant – Munich, Germany: A small Italian restaurant located in the heart of Munich, Byblos is a must for anyone who professes love for authentic Italian food. It is one of those no-nonsense places that serve genuinely good food, without poring too much on the details of the décor or trying to make the place fancier than it really is. The simple interior does nothing to detract from a wonderful experience, even adding to its quaintness and charm.

Service throughout our dinner was spot-on perfect. The fact that our waiter, Riccardo, was one of the restaurant owners may have contributed to the warm and impeccable assistance we received; you simply don’t get this kind of personal service just anywhere. He was casual yet professional enough to assure us that we were in a restaurant that knows how to create divine food and lasting memories for every guest.

We tried their Straccetti, a Northern Italian recipe with beef, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes on top of linguini. It was a spectacular dish; hearty, full of flavor and very filling. I have not tried this dish before, but I would definitely try it again in a heartbeat. We also had the Tagliolini Tartufo, pasta with cream and shavings of fresh truffles. I’ve had this dish many times before at various authentic and not-so-authentic Italian restaurants. Here at Byblos, it did not disappoint; it was one of the best I had. For dessert we had an unbelievably delicious Tiramisu. I was not able to ask whether it was made in their kitchen or not, but regardless, it was amazing.

The wine list was extensive with a great selection of Italian wines. Had I not known better, I would have sworn I was in the heart of Italy and not in Munich.

Overall, the restaurant impressed us every step of the way, if you are in Munich, Byblos is a must. Don’t forget to make reservations before you go. Bombastic!
