Negroni American Bar – Munich, Germany: Modeled after a classic American bar, Negroni in Munich, Germany serves an extensive array of cocktails, covering more than 140 types, 60 of which are the own creation of the owners, Mauro and Michele. Both owners have a deep passion for cocktails and have won prestigious cocktail mixing awards. As you go inside, you will see the awards and trophies displayed on top of the bar together with rows and rows of alcohol bottles.

Named after the Italian drink, this American Bar serves Italian inspired cuisine, prepared in a way to accompany the cocktails. The interior is what you would expect of a bar—dim lighting, wooden décor and mostly warm earth colors. We went there for a nightcap after a busy day going around exploring Munich. Obviously, this was a rather popular bar as it was filled with people—both locals and expats. It probably wasn’t the best idea for a relaxing night as it was noisy and the acoustics of the place was bad.

I ordered one of their award-winning drinks, the Dusty Martini. It had a sweet taste and a hint of apple, which was not really my taste, and at 8 Euros, was not worth my money. To accompany the drink, I ordered the Torta Caprese, a traditional Italian almond pie made with a touch of liqueur. It was okay, but not fabulous. Needless to say, my experience at the Negroni American Bar in Munich was forgettable. Rating, Between Bombastic and Not.

What I liked: Elegant interiors

What I didn’t like: Bad acoustics, so-so experience

Rating: Between Bombastic and Not
