Great Atmosphere and Drink Menu

Lamak - Ubud, Bali: Located on Monkey Forest Road in Ubud, is the ultra fun, ultra hip, Lamak Restaurant.

As décor goes, Lamak is decorated beautifully and has a wonderful atmosphere but as service and the meals go, they are lacking. The open-air restaurant with its tall ceilings and brightly colored accents put us in a festive mood. The service however, was slow and lacked the warmth I had become accustomed to in Bali.

I tried the tasting menu, which consisted of crab linguini, baked garlic tomato, duck broth soup and the only thing that was truly delicious, prawns.

The prices were very reasonable. The tasting menu was 240,000 IDR or about $26.00 USD but even with that lost cost, the dinner was disappointing.

Is Lamak a restaurant I would recommend? Probably not, they have a great drink menu so I would recommend stopping there for a drink but I would skip having dinner here.
