The Noodle House at Olympia Mall - Salmiya, Kuwait: Situated at Ground 18 Olympia Mall, Al Mubarak St. in Saimiya, Kuwait, we went to The Noodle House to see if its food is authentically Asian. After being in Asia so many times, it would be interesting to see if a Middle Eastern noodle house can offer truly authentic Southeast Asian food.

We went to the branch at the Olympia Mall, though The Noodle House also has another branch on the Gulf Road.



When we arrived, our first thought was that the atmosphere seemed a bit commercial, though the large windows let in a lot of light which made the restaurant a bright and cheerful place for lunch.

The menu was quite extensive, with a selection that ranged from dumplings, to salads, rice and assorted viands, and of course, noodles.

Not knowing what was good, our waiter was kind enough to help us pick out some good dishes.





We ordered:

Chicken Siew Mai Dumplings
Shrimp Dumplings
Large Prawn Wontons
Singapore Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp

How was it? It was good, but not nearly as authentic as what we had in Asia. The commercial vibe of the ambiance surely reflected on the food, though it still made for a great lunch.

Service throughout was supreme though. Granted there were a few other diners there, so I don’t know for certain how it would have been if the place were full. Nevertheless, service was outstanding.

Is it a place I would go back to again? Yes, most definitely. However, though we cannot give it a full rating of Bombastic, we surely would give it a most solid Almost Bombastic rating. Overall, if you are looking for some good Southeast Asian cuisine in Kuwait, The Noodle House will satisfy your Oriental cravings.

What I didn’t like: Though food was good, it lack the authenticity of Southeast Asian fare
