Le Touessrok Resort - Mauritius: On this trip to the island of Mauritius, we are visiting and reviewing three different five-star, luxury resorts in the island. One of the three is the Le Touessrok Resort while the other two are the Four Seasons Mauritius and the Oberoi Mauritius. Click here to browse through over 50 pictures of Le Touessrok Resort.

Le Touessrok Resort is located at the east coast of tropical Mauritius. It is situated at the stunning stretch of a shoreline overlooking the Trou d’Eau Douce Bay. It consists of a mainland and two islands just across the Indian Ocean: the Ile aux Cerfs and the Ilot Mangenie. Le Touessrok Resort, used to be a One and Only Resort but is now under different ownership.

We rented a car at the airport and turned what should have been a 45 minute drive into a two hour impromptu tour of the island.

First Impression/Lobby: When we finally got to the resort, we drove down the long driveway taking in the view of perfectly manicured landscapes filled with flowering trees. A gigantic old tree decorated with over-sized ornaments that looked like birdcages stood at the front of the entrance.

We were met at the car and immediately shown to the small and understated lobby. It still however, radiated a warm and welcoming feeling.

Reception: Once we got settled into a cushy couch we were offered cold towels along with cups of tea to refresh ourselves after our unfortunate two hour drive from the airport. Our host took his time through our registration, and since our room was not yet ready, he offered us a cocktail while we waited. After about 30 minutes, we were accompanied to our Junior Suite located on the second floor of the main building.

The Suite: We reserved a Junior Suite in the Hibiscus Wing of the Le Touessrok Resort. It is a simple room with a king sized bed in the middle of the room. It also has a balcony perfectly sized for the table and chairs, with a view out of the water. The Junior Suite of the Le Touessrok Resort featured a calm and fashionable design enthused by the tropical beauty of the island.

The room also has a large bathroom and dressing room. The bathroom had two sinks placed one on each side. In the middle of the room was a large soaking, egg-shaped bathtub. The room also has a spacious rain shower in a shower stall as well as private toilet stall. Large cabinets are fixed against the wall on each side of the room. The bath amenities they provided are from Floris of London which were perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Aside from the beautiful bathroom amenities, other room amenities in our Junior Suite were the plasma screen TV, free Wi-Fi, complementary fruits in the room, and a spacious work desk and chair just behind the bed. They also offer a menu with about 8 different types of pillows to choose from and another menu with 4 different scents that you can use in the room. It was on the small side, but nicely appointed.
