First Impression/Lobby: The lobby of the Four Seasons Singapore was a little understated when compared to the other properties of the Four Seasons. Though the large bouquet was present (which I’ve come to expect from them), the décor was very simple. Agreed, it was gorgeous and elegant as always, but it was simpler than I had expected from the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore.

Reception: The check in process was quick and this time I really felt as if we were being welcomed back to the Four Seasons. Even though this was our first stay here, we have stayed at plenty of their properties around the world and this time they actually treated us like valued guests!

The Suite: Our Four Seasons Executive Suite was stunning to say the least. While the hotel lobby was simpler than I had expected, the suite was more elegant. Our suite had a high ceiling and Asian art was displayed on its textured walls. The furnishings were done up in neutral tones. Huge bay windows offered tons of natural daylight to flood the room.

The living area was equipped with a sofa, armchair, coffee table and an executive desk. In a corner of the living room, a small dining table for four was placed. All modern amenities such as an LCD television, DVD/CD player, safe, private bar, tea/coffee maker, multi-line telephones as well as wired and wireless internet access were available. The bathroom was made of marble and featured a double vanity, deep soaking tub and a separate shower. Even a guest powder room was present. Toiletries were from L'Occitane. Our suite at the Four Seasons Singapore was pure luxury!

Room Service: If there were any flaws at all in this hotel, it definitely was with room service. The quality of their food was not consistent. Everything was perfect the first time we ordered room service. But during the second time, the order was served late. More importantly, the quality of the food was not up to Four Seasons usual standards (nor consistent with our previous order). This was such a letdown since I know they could have done better.

Housekeeping: The twice-daily housekeeping service at this hotel was executed to perfection. Even the evening turndown service was flawless.

Concierge: The concierge team was extremely professional, knowledgeable, kind and sincere. The best recommendation was the Tatsuya restaurant for sushi. Simply wow!

Restaurant: One-Ninety, the hotel’s bistro grill serves Singaporean and International cuisine. Located in the same level as the main lobby, this 109 seat restaurant specializes in dishes made on an applewood grill. The Bar and Alfresco offers indoor and outdoor seating on the main lobby level. The outdoor terrace seating area offers views of the Orchard Boulevard. Drinks and snacks are served here. The Afternoon Tea is a major affair with sweet and savory items paired with Veuve Clicquot champagne.

Jiang-Nan Chun located on the second floor is done up in Art Deco and Art Nouveau furnishings. This restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine. The weekend Oriental brunch at this restaurant is hugely popular.

Pool/Spa/Activities: The club at Four Seasons Singapore featured two indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a fitness center, an outdoor lap pool, a family pool, saunas and steam rooms. The spa, equipped with five treatment rooms, offered a range of services.

The 24-hour business services at this hotel included meeting rooms, audiovisual equipment, secretarial service and translation and interpretation service.

Check-Out: Our check out was fast and easy. There were no errors on the bill. You would think that an error free bill would be a standard at any five star hotel, but the number of times we have found mistakes on one of our bills is surprising! But here at the Four Seasons Singapore it was 100% accurate.

Overall Impression: After having stayed at many five-star hotels in Singapore and around the world, we found the Four Seasons Singapore to be one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in a very long time. We give this hotel a Bombastic rating for its professionalism, impeccable service and luxurious accommodations.
