A Thai Restaurant To Stay Far Away From

Angkor Thai Restaurant – Zurich, Switzerland: Walking in the Angkor Thai Restaurant in Zurich, Switzerland, you would think you were at a high-end classy Thai restaurant in the heart of Bangkok. The décor was gorgeous with intricate carvings on the walls, Buddha sculptures, rich tapestries, fine china and crystal glasses.

Unfortunately, the magic ends there as the food and service did not live up to its beauty.

For one, the tables were placed so closely to each other that there was no room to get in and out and there was absolutely no privacy. But the food was the biggest malady.

I had the Tom Kha Gai, a hot and sour coconut milk soup with chicken, lemon grass, mushrooms, kaffir lime leaves and chilies. It was too salty and was definitely far from impressive. Next, I had the Spring Rolls, which was oily, greasy and dull.

We also had Beef tenderloin with sweet yellow curry and Chicken with spicy red curry. Both dishes were average at best. The beef and yellow curry lacked any flavor and the red curry was so spicy it masked any flavor that tried to come through.

Service was horrible! They were slow, non-responsive and generally unpleasant.

If you want good Thai food in Zurich, I suggest you head to Blue Monkey instead. I rate the Angkor Thai Restaurant in Zurich Not Bombastic.

What I liked: The decor

What I didn’t like: The food, the service
