When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was how big it was and its long floor plan. The ambience had a trendy vibe with back to back leather booth seating that ran down the middle and went all the way to the end. All the tables and chairs were dark brown in color, which complemented the dark grey cement flooring. Big vases with flowers were placed on the window and in-between tables that added color to the Mango Tree London There was also a bar/lounge situated at the entrance.

As for the food fare, menus were set or ala carte.

For dinner, I had the Tom Yum Goong, which is a hot and sour prawn soup with shumanji mushrooms. It was delicious but spicy. Not for the weak willed.

For my main course, I had the Massaman Gae, a lamb curry dish with steamed rice, and vegetables with oyster sauce. It was very delicious. Though I rarely finish a dish this large, this time I finished it all, feeling stuffed but satisfied.

For dessert, I didn’t plan on having something sweet, especially since I was still full from the main course, but I changed my mind. I had a Mango and Coconut Lime Sorbet. The sorbet had sticky rice below it, which was very good. I then had a Mango Tree Coffee, which was Mango Tree London’s signature drink, and again I was impressed. Not only did it look good, it tasted good too.

All the waiters that served me were very nice, and service was very good overall. My server even recommended what I should try the next time I am there. He suggested I try the Grilled Duck, Deep Fried Fish, and Grilled Sea Bass (which I suspect they add a secret ingredient or two to it) - something to look forward to on our next visit.

If ever you are in the area, and are looking for the best Thai in London, Mango Tree London is a definite must-try. Based on my visit, I would surely would come back here again. In all, I rate the Mango Tree London a well-deserved Bombastic rating!
