First Impression/Lobby: The lobby epitomized the city; large and busy with exclusive high-end stores connecting its sides. The apparent luxury of the lobby at Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh was evident. With gleaming floors structured around a lotus shaped ceiling design lit up by warm lights, the lobby had a stark elegance about it, done up tastefully with plants, curios and more.

Reception: We were escorted up to the 5th floor which housed the reception for our check-in as we had booked the Tower Suite. The reception area was tastefully done and comfortable to be seated in while the check-in was done. From there we were duly shown to our suite located on the 13th floor.

The Suite: We had booked ourselves at Grand Tower of the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh. The suite was divided into a master bedroom, a living room, a master bathroom and a half-bathroom accessed from the living room. You need to make sure to book a room with a river-view or you will find yourself staring into the rather uninteresting other building of the hotel.

The bedroom was comfortable and was just large enough to not be considered small. With a large comfortable bed with a soft white duvet, the muted colors of the bedroom exuded comfort. The living room followed the same décor and color pattern as the bedroom. Fitted with a comfy couch and a sofa stretch-seat to face the large flat-screen TV, the living room was made to lounge in. With bright wall prints decorating the walls, the sheer curtains and plants doing their magic in adding a subtle elegance to the room, the living room at Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh offered all amenities like a large writing desk with stationery, a table lamp, fruit basket to munch on and access to a half-bathroom.

The master bathroom had a large sink, a shower stall and a bathtub that had a flat screen TV fitted neat its foot-end. With gleaming counter-tops and floors, the bathroom was done in basic black and white tones offset by the brown venetian blinds and pretty lamp shades. At the far end of the bathroom, there was plenty of space allotted for luggage and clothes.

The Lounge: The lounge at the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh had plush couches and sofa seats offset by bright cushions, beautiful and colorful prints framing the soft-toned walls, standing lamps sitting pretty in their colorful hues, warm sunlight streaming into the room and lighting the cheerful colors on the rug, plus pots of plants decorating the corners of the room, made us want to sink in and relax completely. We were offered the use of the lounge for having booked the Tower Suite at the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh. The lounge offered breakfast, afternoon tea, canapé with cocktails and all day soft drinks along with the use of Wi-Fi, computers connected to the internet and business centre.

The lounge at the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh was spacious and occupied two stories. With a wide array of options of food for breakfast, afternoon tea and canapé provided, the lounge also had a chef to cook ordered dishes. You could order from a small menu.

Room Service: The room service at Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh was extremely efficient. On-time and always presented in a five-star fashion, we were well pleased with it.

Housekeeping: The housekeeping at Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh deems a special mention. Completely attentive and having mastered the art of providing service while remaining invisible, we were catered to without being disturbed in the least.

Concierge: The concierge knew his job well and offered knowledgeable and worthy suggestions on places to go and things to do.

Restaurant: There were a number of options to dine in at the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh. The Saigon Café that offers all-day dining with an extensive buffet and a barbecue counter offering local and international cuisine, The Li Bai Chinese restaurant offering traditional Chinese and Cantonese dishes and different varieties of dim-sums, the Signature Restaurant offering Pan-Asian cuisine along with a splendid view, being set on the 23rd floor, the Wine Bar offering great views and pre or post-dinner cocktails, The Lifestyle Bar offering light fairs and cocktails along the pool-side, the Mojo café offering light eats, great pizzas and drinks, the Grand Tower Lounge which serves international cuisine both indoor and in an open-air seating style and finally, the Night Spot offering munchies, drinks and live music and bands. The options were many and choices quite limitless at the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh.

Pool/Spa/Activities: The pool at Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh was located on the fifth floor and offered limited sunlight. Definitely not a place you wanted to lounge in for a tan. The hotel also housed the Aqua Day Spa offering a wide array of services, treatment and massages, a fitness center, a golf course, a gym, a game-room and high-end shops.

Check-Out: We were delayed by having to wait a while for the porter due to a maintenance hitch with one of the elevators. But other than that, the check-out which was completed in the 5th floor reception area was perfect; quick, efficient and fast.

Overall Impression: Our experience at the Sheraton at Ho Chi Minh was absolutely Bombastic. The hotel delivered all that a five-star hotel of its repute needs to. For those people looking for a luxury hotel in Ho Chi Minh, this was the place to be at.
