Pizzeria Libretto is located in one of Toronto's top party spots, Ossington Avenue. This pizzeria is known for its authentic Neapolitan pizza baked in a wood fired oven brought in from Naples. Pizzeria Libretto also has a branch at Danforth Avenue.

Pizzeria Libretto had a modern and cheerful atmosphere with neon green walls and dangling lights. A number of photographs were displayed on one wall. The decor was warm and inviting and consisted of rustic chairs and tables, banquettes and a communal dining table. A chalkboard graffiti gave a hip and trendy feel. I have visited this pizzeria a few times. Though it was always packed to the brim, the service was excellent and the food was “out of this world” good! Well, maybe not out of this world, because it does really taste like pizza you get in Napoli, Italy.

During this particular visit to Pizzeria Libretto, we ordered the Spicy Meatballs and the House-Made Sausage Pizza with caramelized onion, mozzarella and chilli oil and the Cremini Mushroom Pizza with buffalo mozzarella, gorgonzola, roasted garlic, rosemary, thyme and pecorino. The pizza did not take much time to make since it is baked in a wood fired oven at very high heat. Both the pizzas were just the way we wanted, a little crispy but still very chewy. Easily the best pizza in all of Toronto. For dessert, we ordered the Libretto Tiramisu served in a jar. Divine would be an understatement in the case of this dessert.

Service at this restaurant was precise and top notch. Our server was knowledgeable and offered detailed information about every item on the menu as well as some lovely wine suggestions. The wine list was rather short and consisted mainly of Italian. Wines were available even by the glass.

During our previous visits, we have tried the Potato & Ricotta Gnocchi with oxtail and rosemary, Margherita and the Chocolate-Amaretto Budino. Each and every time everything has been just perfect right from food to service. The only negative if at all is that this pizzeria does not accept any reservations.

Overall, Pizzeria Libretto serves Neapolitan pizza with simple yet authentic flavors in a lively yet comfortable setting. We recommend this place for the best pizza in Toronto. The lovely food, the energetic and lively vibe and the wonderful service compels us to give this pizzeria a Fantastic Bombastic rating.
