SoHo Metropolitan Hotel - Toronto, ON

Personal Service, Comfortable Accommodations = Bombastic

SoHo Metropolitan Hotel - Toronto, Ontario Located in the heart of downtown Toronto's Theater and Entertainment District, with just under 100 rooms and suites, is the small, luxury hotel, SoHo Metropolitan Hotel. We had found out about Soho Metropolitan Hotel online a few months prior to our visit to Toronto and used their easy to use hotel reservation website to book ourselves a suite.

First Impression/Lobby: We pulled up in front of the Soho Metropolitan Hotel and were immediately met by a hotel representative who welcomed us to the Soho Met Toronto and quickly tended to our bags, and the parking of our car.

The lobby of the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel Toronto was small, but oozed chic and trendy.

Reception: The young lady at reception acted as if she had been waiting for us and just as quickly as the bellman attended to us, she had completed our registration and had the bellman escort us to our suite.

The Suite: Our Premier Executive Suite was located on a corner of the 3rd floor and had a very homey feel. Decorated in hues of beige, the small small living room had a couch, large upholstered chair, small work table and flat screen TV. Down the long hallway was a nice sized bathroom with heated marble floors, huge walk-in shower with two shower heads, a toilet and single basin sink; a large dressing room with plenty of storage; and at the very end of the hallway, the master bedroom, sparsely filled with a king bed, two nightstands and a second flat screen TV, completed the suite.

While the suite was not huge, the floor to ceiling windows throughout the suite, helped to make it feel larger and even though the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel did not offer much of a view, it was nice to have the suite flooded with natural daylight.

Room Service: The room service was well rounded but pricey. I did order a hamburger which was delectable, but at $25 plus $5 for delivery, 17% for gratuity and then taxes on top of that, it really was just too expensive to dine in the room, especially when there are tons of great restaurants in Toronto.

Housekeeping: Housekeeping did an superb job of servicing the room both during the daytime service and at the evening turndown service.

Concierge: Knowledgeable, professional and helpful, all that a good concierge should be. The sign of a good concierge is always a sign of a good hotel, and the concierge at the SoHo Met Hotel in Toronto was perfect.

Restaurant: We did not have the opportunity of dine at Senses, one of SoHo Metropolitan Hotel’s restaurant, but from the well-heeled guests that were dining there, I have a feeling it was not only upscale, but it also provided above average fare.

Check-Out: Just as efficiently as our registration upon arrival, our check-out was just as quick and just a efficient. It was pure five-star service.

Overall Impression SoHo Metropolitan Hotel in Toronto offered personalized service at every turn. Top notch service and comfortable accommodations make it easy to give SoHo Metropolitan Hotel a rating of bombastic.
