The Le Meridien Hotel in Bangkok is located in a very busy section of Surawong Road in the city’s Silom business district. This hotel is within walking distance of a number of shopping and dining destinations as well as tourist attractions. The nearby Patpong Night Market and the entertainment zone makes the area around this hotel a little bit sordid but it gives you a good idea of what Bangkok is all about at night.

All of 24 stories, the five-star Le Meridien Hotel – Bangkok has a modern décor and matching furnishings. This hotel offers 282 guestrooms and suites decorated with warm earth tones that give them a super trendy and relaxed atmosphere.

Our check-in was effortless and we were shown to our Avantec Suite within no time at all. Our suite had a contemporary décor and was equipped with all modern amenities. Floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and bedroom let in plenty of daylight. The living room was spacious and was furnished with two sofas, a couch and a work area. The bedroom had ample storage space. Even the bathroom was spacious and was equipped with a large bathtub, shower stall with two shower heads, twin sinks and a private toilet area. The only negative was that the view was not that spectacular. However, our suite was very comfortable.

The housekeeping service at this hotel was perfect and our suite was kept neat at all times. In fact, it was quite evident that they were very service oriented. A 24-hour in-suite dining service was also available.

The Le Meridien Hotel – Bangkok also offers a restaurant, two bars and a lounge. The restaurant, Latest Recipe, serves International cuisine in a stylish contemporary setting. While Tempo bar serves continental breakfast in the morning and creative drinks and snacks from afternoon, the Bamboo Chic bar serves signature cocktails, wines and spirits along with snacks, sandwiches and delicatessen from 5.30 pm onwards. The lounge, Latitude 13 is located in the hotel lobby. This lounge serves snacks and select beverages throughout the day.

An outdoor lap pool is located on the sixth floor. The pool deck is equipped with a plunge bar, sundeck and a smaller saltwater pool. The fitness center located on the same floor features the latest equipment from Technogym as well as floor-to-ceiling window panels that reveal a great view of the city. The hotel’s spa is also located on the 6th floor and offers a number of massage services and beauty treatments.

Overall, the service at Le Meridien was excellent right from the moment we checked in till the moment we paid our bills and left. Though the hotel cannot compete with the likes of the Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental on the luxury scale, it is still great value for money. The rates were pretty reasonable considering the host of amenities provided. We give the Le Meridien Hotel – Bangkok a Bombastic rating.
