Prego Italian Restaurant - Koh Samui, Thailand: Headed by renowned Italian chef, Marco Boscaini, Prego serves authentic Italian food made with fresh local and imported ingredients at reasonable prices, in a dreamy yet elegant ambiance. All sides except for one wall of the restaurant are completely open, providing a cool and airy atmosphere. The layout is spacious and refreshing with an open terrace, water installations and a pond. The décor has a touch of Italy with its terra-cotta tiles, stonewalls, and marble walkway.

We started with Pumpkin soup with toasted almonds, which was excellent, as good as any soup I’ve had in Italy. For the main course, I had the Pici alla Chiantigiana—homemade pasta with braised beef tenderloin in red Chianti wine sauce, lemon zest, rosemary and fresh grated pecorino cheese. My partner had the Grilled Lamb Chops served with baked tomato and sautéed spinach. Both the pasta and the lamb chops were great. The pasta was full of flavor and lamb was tender, juicy and grilled to perfection.

For dessert, we had wood oven-baked apple tart, with vanilla ice cream, and the Chef’s special, Tiramisu al Caffe, which was heavenly! Service was warm and friendly all throughout dinner. This open air restaurant is not only chic and trendy it has a great menu and amazing food. Bombastic!
