An Amazing Bar in Bangkok

Restaurant Category : Bar

Sky Bar at State Tower - Bangkok, Thailand: On the 63rd floor of The Dome at State Tower is one of the highest open air rooftop bars in the world with some of the most stunning panoramic views of the Bangkok Skyline and Chao Phraya River. Aptly named Sky Bar, this chic and trendy place is perhaps the closest thing to heaven when it comes to the Bangkok nightlife scene with its smooth and easy jazz, dreamy ambiance and beautiful people. Take note that the cost of the wine is quite lofty too, but the whole experience is just too breathtakingly beautiful to miss.

Late noon is a good time to relax here with an exquisite vintage wine and hand rolled Cuban cigars while taking in the golden rays of the setting sun, and by nightfall indulge in colorful cocktails and appetizers galore mainly of Mediterranean fare.

We stopped at the Sky Bar after dinner hoping to experience a romantic urban nightcap, and after getting used to the heights, I found myself mesmerized with the view. I have been in many rooftop bars on top of skyscrapers but being in Bangkok and seeing the stars above me and the vast city below was unlike any experience I have ever had before—it was pure exotic intoxication, coupled with a good glass of wine, which only added to my euphoric experience.

Hanging out at the Sky Bar whether at late noon or night is a definite must-do when in Bangkok. Bombastic!
