D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant at the Cosmopolitan Hotel – Las Vegas, NV: The Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita Italian Restaurant, or commonly known as D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant, is located at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant, named after a highest level of Italian wine origin, is owned by the famous chef Scott Conant and serves Italian meals such as steaks and chops, pizza, pasta, and just recently, grilled foods.

We went to D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant for a quick lunch minutes after it opened for the day. We were the first customers so it was easy to spot a number of wait staff who were hanging at the corner who looked like they were having more fun laughing and chatting than doing any actual work.

They served us some complimentary bread sticks, which were average especially for an Italian Restaurant owned by a “famous” chef. Aside from being known with having large selection of Italian wine, D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant is also known for its handmade pizza. So we ordered the pizza for our main course and it was indeed delicious. But, we only got what we paid for, nothing more and nothing less. Good food, but at a just as hefty a price.

The atmosphere inside D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant was okay with a laid back and relaxed feel from the brick and wood interior. However, the music was played way too loud with songs ranging from 70’s Easy Listening to Bee Gee’s disco songs and to hard rock songs even; a horrible mix of music for this casual, yet upscale place.

Our rating for D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant which offered great tasting pizza abut awful service is a mediocre Between Bombastic and Not.

What I liked: The hand made pizzas were indeed delicious. The atmosphere at D.O.C.G. Italian Restaurant was cozy and relaxing.

What I didn’t like: We didn’t like the non-existent service of the wait staff that spent their time laughing and chatting in the corner. We also didn’t like the music that was played loudly the entire time we were there.

Rating: Between Bombastic and Not.
