Siena Luxury Hotel Reviews and Siena Restaurant Reviews

Siena, Italy  (also spelled as Sienna in English) is a medieval city in Tuscany, Italy, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A capital of the province of Siena, the city of Siena is made of brick walls, stone alleys, tiled roofs, and magnificent Gothic palaces—a sight to behold, indeed, especially from a vantage point (preferably from the Palazzo Pubblico’s tower). It has a proud past, being a wealthy independent city-state that had an appetite for war and violence in the Middle Ages.

Besides its historical and cultural heritage, Siena is well-known in Italy for its horse racing event, Il Palio, which is held twice a year every summer. Sienese locals are also infamously known for being proud of their roots and city, and during Il Palio, a colorful array of neighborhood rivalry, pageantry, trash-talking, bragging, and the occasion violence can be witnessed. An interesting and charming city, Siena is a place worth visiting. In terms of cuisine and luxury hotel accommodations, however, it is not the best.
