Sitting at the foot of Monte Carreto, Amalfi opens onto a harbor at the mouth of a deep ravine and is surrounded by coastal sceneries and picturesque landscapes.

During the 1920s and the 1930s, Amalfi became a popular destination among the British aristocracy and upper class. Today, it offers some of the most luxurious boutique hotels and restaurants in Campania, or even the world. My favorite five star hotels in the area is the Hotel Santa Caterina, which sits at the cliffs of the Amalfi coats and is a member of the Leading Small Hotels of the World.
