Hotel Vitale - San Francisco, California - Luxury Boutique Hotel Review

Great Location, Great View, Great Hotel

I stayed at the Hotel Vitale for only about 24 hours - not enough time to fully experience the whole range of amenities that the hotel has to offer, but long enough to know that this boutique hotel is full of class and style. Ideally located in Mission Street near exciting local hotspots, Hotel Vitale offers incomparably gorgeous views of San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge.

First Impression/Lobby: The interior of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous-contemporary chic yet not at all alienating. There are many thoughtful details that make the place comfortable and welcoming such as a well-placed painting and a compelling art installation.

Reception: Upon our arrival, the bellmen immediately assisted us with our luggage. The front desk greeted us with a warm welcoming smile and checked us in without a hitch. In no time, we were assisted to our rooms. Every step of the way, the service was top-notch excellent, exactly what you would expect from a luxury hotel service.

Concierge: We were not able to use the services of the concierge but based on our experience with the hotel’s consistently first-class service, I have a good feeling that it would be just as stellar.

The Suite: We booked a Panoramic Suite, a corner suite that was fascinatingly designed in a circular fashion and provided an amazingly jaw-dropping 180 degree view of the water and the San Francisco Bay Bridge. The interior was chic and trendy without being ostentatious. It had a king-sized bed and an up-to-date entertainment system. The bathroom was large and divinely covered with limestone. It had a rainforest showerhead and a soaking tub where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the bay as you relax in the tub with a glass of wine.

Room Service: The anti-climax of our otherwise perfect stay was the Room Service charges-18% service charge, $3.00 delivery charge, and 8.25% tax. With all the extra charges (plus the fact that we were in San Francisco), we simply decided not to order in and were motivated to get out and dine in the city instead.

Housekeeping: Housekeeping was spic-and-span perfect, invisible, flawless! Absolutely first-class luxury hotel service.

Restaurant: Being in San Francisco, I recommend dining out and exploring this wonderfully eclectic city with so many chic and trendy restaurants, as opposed to dining in a hotel restaurant.

Pool/Spa/Activities: One of the best parts of the Hotel Vitale is the rooftop terraces. During Fourth of July, many people book a room here to watch the fireworks from the terrace. For other entertainment amenities, Hotel Vitale has a spa with signature perfect views as well as outdoor soaking tubs.

Overall Impression Hotel Vitale is a gem in San Francisco and I recommend it for short or long staying guests. While the room service is shockingly exorbitant, it is just as well to be motivated to go out and explore the city. After all, this is San Francisco and there are endlessly fabulous restaurants to choose from. Overall, I rate the Hotel Vitale Bombastic!
