Cantinetta dei Verrazzano - Florence, Italy - We were looking for a place to have a quick bite to eat. A sandwich, coffee, maybe a pastry and the concierge at Hotel Savoy recommended Cantinetta dei Verrazzano; never in our wildest dreams did we expect such a charming place.

Was at a sandwich place or was it a wine bar, a café or a coffee shop? To our delight, it was all of the above. Cantinetta dei Verrazzano, is simply a small and charming place housed in a former bakery that caters to eat-on-the-run crowds, small sandwiches, coffee, plates of fresh cheeses, salamis, "to die for desserts" and of course, a great selection of wines.

Whether you are in need of a quick bite and a coffee or want to start (or end your evening) with a nice glass of wine, this is the place.

Be prepared to wait for a table or be willing to stand at one of the small bars/counters along the walls. And of course be ready to watch the people, this place turns over fast so there's lots to see.

This is a great place to experience Florence.
