Il Vineto - Rome, Italy: I am not sure what was more impressive, the wine list or the food at Il Vineto, a small restaurant I stumbled upon when I was in Rome.

I stopped here for a quick lunch but ended up staying for a stunning lunch and a beautiful bottle of Barolo (one of the best Italian wines).

The menu rages from starters like; French oysters, red tuna bites or parmesan style eggplant, to main courses of fresh fish, lobster, beef and New Zealand lamb.

I opted for the beef fillet with Port and black truffle sauce served with a pumpkin puree. I had no idea this casual looking restaurant (we were eating outside in their front walkway) could serve up such stimulating dishes.

Once I stepped inside and saw the formal, dark wood interior, it all made sense. This was a classy, stylish, must-see and must-dine at restaurant.

On top of the great food and excellent wine, we had stupendous service all at a reasonable price.

If you are in Rome and want a casual but fantastic lunch or what I believe would be a beautiful dinner, check out Il Vineto.
