Lo Scudiero Ristorante - Palermo, Sicily | Restaurant Review
Nice Atmosphere, Average Cuisine and Service
Restaurant Category : Italian
Ristorante Lo Scudiero - Palermo Sicily, Italy: A cozy restaurant frequented by locals, Ristorante Lo Scudiero in Palermo, Sicily is a home-style trattoria that serves typical and unpretentious Sicilian cuisine at reasonable prices. It has a light and pleasant atmosphere with beautiful pictures hung on the wall and lovely stained-glass windows. Located in the busy street of Via Turati near Teatro Politeama, a lot of the people who live and work in the area seem to favor this unassuming restaurant.
We had dinner at the Lo Scudiero during one of those busy nights. We ordered the seafood pasta for our first course. The seafood was delicious but they scrimped on it so much that the pasta didn't achieve a truly full flavor. For my main course, I had the grilled swordfish with a hint of mint. It was fresh but it lacked in flavor and definitely was not the best fish I had in Sicily.

While a restaurant full of locals should be a good sign, I found their food and service mediocre and the whole experience kind of blah. It could be that because of their success, they are becoming negligent of their standards. Because of its overall ambivalence, I rate it somewhere between bombastic or not.
