Windsor Court Hotel - New Orleans: Smack dab in the middle of the New Orleans business district, the Windsor Court Hotel boasts of being the city’s high society center. With classy décor and a stiff, formal ambience, Windsor Court hints at being one of the more luxurious of hotels in the area. But is it really?

The Windsor Court Hotel offers guests 316 guestrooms and suites. Our suite was spacious enough, and the décor was pretty traditional. However, it was still lacking the “wow” factor. Though room service was decent and the concierge was helpful, as hard as it tries to be luxurious, the Windsor Court Hotel just didn’t feel like a true luxury hotel.

For kicking back, the hotel has the Club Level lounge, The Grill Room, The Polo Club Lounge and Le Salon. Last January 2012, the Cocktail Bar opened its doors to serve guests, while the Spa at Windsor Court is expected to open Spring 2012.

Given its post-Katrina renovations, we forgive the tear that the hotel wears. The many lounges and amenities offered are also a plus. However, overall, we rate the Windsor Court Hotel as Almost Bombastic. It’s a good place to stay in, but expect nothing special.
