Venice, Italy is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and a popular choice among honeymooners who desire five star hotel luxury. Dating back to 827, this enchanting city located on a lagoon has one of the richest cultural and historical heritages in the world; little has changed about its structure and façade for over six hundred years. While it has decayed in the past decades because of heavy tourist traffic, its ability to inspire magic and awe remains.

Textbook must-see sites include the Basilica di San Marco, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Palazzo Ducale and Gallerie dell’Accademia. Other interesting attractions include the Arsenale, Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, Ca’ Pesaro, and Ca’ Rezzonico. Within Venice, cars are banned and the only form of transportation is the water taxis and public ferries called the vaporetti.
